Events and Exhibitions

Selby Abbey is a centre for the arts and culture in Selby.  Throughout the year there are events and exhibitions planned so visit this page often to see what is new.
 

Future Events 2007

Saturday 31st March 7.30 p.m. Grimethorpe Colliery Band

Saturday 19th May 7.30 p.m. The Shepherd Building Group Brass Band

 
Saturday 22nd September 7.30 p.m. Kenfig Hill Male Voice Choir

Exhibitions: There are exhibitions throughout the year by local schools, the Selby Museum Group, photographic societies, local contemporary artists and carers' organisations.

Educational Visits: approximately 35 schools visit each year plus a number of adult groups from universities and colleges.

Conducted Tours: pre-booked conducted tours regularly take place. These groups have included two American Universities, the Georgian Society, Leeds Medieval Conference, Members of the RAF and numerous local organisations.

Recital/Concerts: The Abbey is widely used for a variety of musical events ranging from Brass Band concerts, with amongst others, the ever popular Black Dyke , the Welsh Male Voice Choir and 'Song from the Shows' to regular recitals by our resident organist and international artists including Carlo Curly, Gillian Weir and Francis Jackson.
