On Wednesday 28th August we look forward to a lunchtime concert given by the Boys’ Choir of Freiburg Minster.
The concert will begin at 1.00pm and will include music by Richard Rudolf Klein, J.S. Bach, Josquin Desprez, Gabriel Fauré, Anton Bruckner, and Charles Villiers Stanford. All are very welcome and admission is free.
The history of Freiburger Münster Boys’ Choir (Freiburger Domsingknaben) from Breisgau, southwest Germany, can be traced back to the 13th century. We are delighted to host the choir here during their summer tour to England, during which they will also sing at Cirencester, Guildford, Liverpool, Coventry, and London’s Westminster Cathedral. Since 2003 the choir is under the direction of Cathedral Director of Music Professor Boris Böhmann. Their tour organist, Thomas Hawkes, is Organist & Choirmaster of Cirencester Parish Church.
