DESCRIPTION:Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols by Candlelight\, Sunday 20 December\, 6.30pm\n\n\n\nFor many people\, this service marks the beginning of their Christmas – it is based around nine Bible readings telling of the fall of humanity\, the promise of the Messiah\, and the birth of Jesus. These readings are interspersed with carols sung by the Abbey Choir who also lead the congregation in singing traditional Christmas hymns.\n\n\n\n\nWe look forward to holding this service for the people of Selby and for those who travel from all over the region to attend.
