Founded in 2015, Adamas Voces began as an ad hoc ensemble and has since grown into a dynamic and accomplished chamber choir based in the United Kingdom. The group brings together a diverse range of singers and musicians including, on this occasion a professional brass ensemble, singers, cathedral and church musicians, organists, teachers, lawyers, priests, ambulance and NHS workers — who have become not only collaborators, but lifelong friends.
Driven by a shared passion and dedication to choral music, Adamas Voces performs a wide-ranging repertoire that spans the Renaissance to contemporary works. Each performance is marked by a high level of musicality, sensitivity, and interpretative insight not only from the director, but the choir as a whole.
Under the direction of founder Vaughn Richardson, the choir is committed to fostering community through music. They regularly perform in services and concerts across the UK, frequently supporting local causes and engaging in outreach projects.
The choir’s name, Adamas — Latin for “unbreakable” or “diamond” — encapsulates the ensemble’s spirit: resilient, luminous, and deeply connected. Every member contributes their time and talent on a voluntary basis, creating a uniquely devoted and vibrant musical collective.
