James was born in Worcester and was educated as a Music Scholar at Malvern College.  He was organ scholar at Malvern College.
Since 2013, he has been Director of Music at St George’s Chapel, Windsor where he directs the professional choir of children and adults in eight services a week during term time.  In this role, he has been responsible for providing music at many Royal occasions including three Royal Weddings and the funerals of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and Queen Elizabeth II.  In 2022, he directed the music for King Charles III’s first Christmas Speech.

 

This is the fourth of our annual lunchtime organ recitals for Summer 2024.  The event is free with a retiring offering.
